What is required?

What are the requirements to be part of the VIA project?

If you want to be part of the VIA project there are some requirements and commitments that you must be sure you can take on:


1. You need to have the ability to work as part of a team with a willingness to be welcoming, listening, dialogue, empathy and service. It is also necessary to be open to the richness that cultural exchange;


2. We ask for an availability of at least 35 days to be able to carry out the specific project in which you commit yourself as a volunteer. And it is also necessary to be available to participate in the training meetings, before and after the experience, both virtual and face-to-face and which are obligatory;


3. You must be at least the age of majority required of your destination country experience:

  • 18 years old for Argentina, Cameroon, Ivory Coast and India,
  • 21 years old for Peru;


4.  It is necessary to have the required travel documents up to date: passport (depending on the case, a minimum validity of 6 months is required) and, in some destinations, also a visa which must be obtained in good time necessary;


5. In addition to being in good health, you must have the vaccinations required by the destination country, as well as the full COVID vaccination schedule;


6. You will be responsible for the following expenses:

  • travel for training meetings prior to the experience,
  • travel round-trip to the country where the volunteer placement will take place and to the specific location where you will be  reside during the voluntary service,
  • your personal needs during the time of the experience;


7. You should be fluent in the language of the duty station so that you can express yourself orally and understand without great difficulty;


8. You will have to follow the registration procedure we propose and sign a mutual agreement and data privacy policy.
